Toronto Meeting: RQ Legal Options

Those in the GTA should check out this meeting tonight about legal options for RQ recipients, including a possible Class Action Legal Challenge to RQ delays.Ariyana A. Rad (immigration consultant) and lawyer Lorne Waldman will discuss different legal options for challenging the unreasonable citizenship delays.

7-9 pm, Tuesday July 30th
North York Civic Centre, room 1
5100 Yonge St. Toronto, Ontario

This meeting is open to all. Also, it will be recorded and posted online at a later date, for those of us (like me) who are outside of the GTA.

*Just to clarify, I haven’t organized this meeting, I’m passing along the info. I’d totally go though, if I were in Toronto.
**I assume that Ms. Rad and Mr. Waldman will also be signing up new clients. I encourage people to do their due diligence and try to thoughtfully weigh the costs and risks with the possible benefits.

    • Here is the video from the meeting (in English and Farsi).
      Here is the report.

As far as attention from the press, we are going to have to generate that ourselves! If you’re interested in working on that, please consider joining the Association of Future Canadians and we can get to work on it! We’ve put together a list of journalists to contact and we’re starting to collect people’s RQ stories. We’d like to create a media packet with background information on the record citizenship delays and the stories of real people who are experiencing real consequences from the unreasonable delays.
